Albert Head Lagoon Regional Park

Albert Head Lagoon Regional Park is a lovely spot for a quiet family outing. Enjoy a picnic, explore the beach or birdwatch.

Directions: 

Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria, and take the Colwood exit. Follow the Old Island Highway, which turns into Sooke Road. From Sooke Road, turn left on Metchosin Road. Turn left on Farhill Road, which turns into Park Drive, then Delgada Road, and leads to the park entrance. Allow approximately 30 minutes driving time from Victoria.

East Sooke Regional Park

West Coast wilderness awaits you at East Sooke Regional Park. Experience it as you hike along the windswept rocky coast, over dry hilltops, through dark rain forest to sheltered coves. East Sooke is the largest CRD Park, encompassing 1422 hectares (3512 acres) of natural and protected coastal landscape.

Aylard Farm Entrance
Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria, and take the Colwood exit. Follow the Old Island Highway, which turns into Sooke Road. From Sooke Road, turn left on Gillespie Road. Turn left on East Sooke Road, then right on Becher Bay Road to reach the park entrance.

Anderson Cove Entrance

Follow the directions above to Gillespie Road. Turn right on East Sooke Road to reach the park entrance on the left.

Pike Road Entrance
Follow the directions above to Gillespie Road. Turn right on East Sooke Road and continue past Anderson Cove to reach the park entrance on the left.

Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park

This popular recreation area offers outdoor opportunities for everyone.

The lake is used cooperatively by swimmers, wind surfers, sailors, water-skiers, fishers and rowers. Some park trails are designated multi-use, for hikers, cyclists and horse riders, while others are for hiking only.

Elk Lake Entrance Follow the Pat Bay Highway from Victoria. Turn left on Sayward Road, left again on Hamsterly Road, then right on Brookleigh Road, which leads to the park entrance on the left. Francis/King Regional Park

This park is an ideal place for visitors of all abilities to explore nature.

Directions: 
Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria, and take the Helmcken Road exit. Turn left on Burnside Road West, then right on Prospect Lake Road. Turn left on Munn Road, which leads to the park entrance on the right. Allow approximately 20 minutes driving time from Victoria.

French Beach Park

This 59 hectare park along the spectacular Strait of Juan de Fuca offers beautiful trails, whale watching, secluded campsites and waterfront picnic areas. Situated on the straits of Juan de Fuca. This 59 hectare park is situated on the Strait of Juan de Fuca 5 km east of Jordan River.

Galloping Goose Trail

Part of the Trans Canada Trail which traverses Canada, the Galloping Goose and Peninsula Trails form one of the most picturesque trail systems in Canada. Goldstream Park

Goldstream Provincial Park lies amid the splendour of an old-growth temperate rain forest. There you can see a world class salmon-spawning stream with thousands of Chum Salmon returning between October and December. It doesn’t stop there. During this amazing time of year you can visit the park and it’s always-changing Visitor Centre.

Gonzales Hill Regional Park

This small park offers stunning ocean views from the highest point of land (66m) on the south coast of Vancouver Island, and rocky knolls from which to appreciate them. The sunset views over downtown Victoria and the distant Sooke Hills are particularly spectacular.

Come for a visit in the spring, when wildflowers bloom in the Garry oak meadows.

Directions: 

From Victoria, follow Fairfield Road, which turns into Beach Drive in Oak Bay Municipality. Turn right on Denison Road, which leads to the park entrance on the right. Allow approximately 10 minutes driving time from downtown Victoria.

Gowlland Tod Provincial Park

Gowlland Tod Provincial Park provides excellent day-use recreation opportunities for hiking, nature appreciation and picnicking. More than 25 kilometres of trails, varying in degree of difficulty, offer spectacular views, as well as the chance to view animals in their natural environment.

Juan de Fuca Marine Trail

The Juan de Fuca Marine Trail is a 47 kilometer hiking trail stretching along the western shoreline of southern Vancouver Island, Canada, from China Beach, just west of the community of Jordan River and extending to Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew.
